Introduction
|
| |
As the net card without PXE boot, in this
case, Anyue Technology Co., Ltd. has developed
another net copy solution—CD-free net
copy solution—the so-called HD solution.
CD-free net copy solution is to divide
a partition at the end of hard disk, and
then to copy the bootable files, multicast
systems and some other information into
it. Modify the main board BIOS, and press
corresponding prompt button as the computer
restart, enter into multicast systems to
complete multicast system.
Main application environment:
Internet cafes, school computer rooms, large
computer manufacturers with brand-name computers
Operating procedures:
The operation sets computers with net cards
which have no integrate PXE boot COMS chip
as objects. It introduce how to accomplish
net copy with CD-free net copy solution.
Following are detailed procedures:
1. Installation of
AYGHOST Genie server:
1) Set the computer as CD-ROM boot in CMOS
system. Insert into setup CD, and it will
occur the following interface. Input linux
ks=cdrom:/ayclone.cfg according the prompt,
press Enter key to wizard the execution
of installation program.
|
| |
|
| |
2) You don’t need to intervene into
installation process. You just need to start
up from hard disk during computer restarts
without taking out CD.
3) The landing information will occur after
installation completed. Usually you don’t
need to maintain this server. The default
username and password is root and 123456 respectively,
if you want to land.
2. Collect IP address
Start up AYGHOST Genie, select Collect IP
Address, and designate the search scope
of IP address, click and begin to collect,
and it will begin to collect every computer’s
name, MAC address, IP address, etc..
Note: This step is
unnecessary if these computers are new ones
without any system.
|
| |
|
| |
The Program can search all name, IP address,
MAC address and subnet mask in scope designated
by the local network. Click Save after collection
completed. The information will save as *.cfg
format. |
| |
|
| |
3. Create HPA1
The partition at the end of HD is HPA1 partition,
whose size is 190-210M, format is FAT16 or
FAT32, and mode is LBA. Copy CD-free programs
and multicast systems into HPA1. Following
are detailed procedures:
A: Divide the HD by sfdisk software as required,
to divide a main partition and HPA1 mentioned
above, and formatting the divided partition
by format program.
B: Use bootable floppy disk or CD which support
CD-ROM to boot (The floppy disk or CD has
refresh BIOS program files, CD-free program
and multicast systems). Upload DOS system
to C: (SYS C: ) and HPA1 partition ( SYS D:
) separately. Copy refresh BIOS program files-outbios.bat
and inbios.bat into C: and copy the CD-free
program and multicast systems into HPA1.

| |
4. AYGHOST Genie
Select a computer with created HPA1 partition
as mother disk, and restart computer. As the
net card without integrate PXE boot CMOS chip,
first you should enter into AYGHOST Genie
server interface booted by floppy disk or
CD.
1) Select the mother disk as the sender, and
enter into AYGHOST Genie interface boot from
LAN.
2) Select Exit, and run AYGHOST under DOS
system to return to AYGHOST Genie interface,
select Continue.
|
| |
|
| |
3) Select to send by current operation mode. |
| |
|
| |
4) Sender will inspect the HD partition
data and connect to server. |
| |
|
| |
5) It will appear a following dialog box
for the first time, input an image name. If
there already have image files existed on
server, it will appear an interface to select
image files, and select an existed one or
create a new one. |
| |
|
| |
6) Receiver boot from LAN and connect automatically
after entering into AYGHOST Genie. Be sure
the number of receiver computers is the same
as the number of connected computers when
the sender end appear following dialog box
(to all receiver ends have been connected).
Press Enter key to begin to clone. |
| |
|
| |
5. Burn BIOS module
Refresh CD-free BIOS module program romdata.bin
into main board BIOS before computers leave
factory. Anyue Technology offers simple batch
programs outbios.bat (take original BIOS module)
and inbios.bat (add CD-free BIOS module and
refresh BIOS). Here will set widely used main
board BIOS—Award BIOS as an example
to illustrate the process to refresh BIOS.
Please refer to corresponding illustrations
for other main board BIOS.
C:\>outbios.bat
C:\>inbios.bat
Following are detailed operation of these
two batch programs:
A: The extraction of BIOS program:
a) Execute awdflash bios.bin backup.bin /sy
/pn, and get BIOS backup file backup.bin.
(conserve carefully)
b) Execute copy backup.bin bios.bin, and then
operate bios.bin.
B: Write romdata.bin into bios.bin:
Execute cbrom bios.bin /isa romdata.bin
C: See bios.bin file:
You will see romdata.bin program after executing
cbrom bios.bin /d. If some corrupted characters
occur, there must have no enough space in
BIOS.BIN, and you should uninstall some unnecessary
programs.
D: About burning of BIOS program:
Execute awdflash bios.bin /py /sn, the BIOS
in computer will be replaced by bios.bin.
ROM program prompt will appear after starting
up computer. (Note:
you should assure not to shutdown or restart
computer, or it will do damage to main board)
|
| |
6. HPA1 lock
After BIOS burn complete, you should lock
HPA1 in order to prevent users from operating
HPA1. The detailed operation is to restart
computer and press CTRL+F8 to enter into AYGHOST
interface as the program prompt appears, and
then just shutdown the computer. In order
to guarantee the empty HD state before leaving
factory, you should delete the created main
partition by sfdisk software.
7. Make mother disk
Install OS and necessary software on one
certain computer as mother disk. Run AYGHOST
Genie on this mother disk. See detailed
procedures:
|
| |
|
| |
A: Open AYGHOST Genie, and click Create
InstallPack
B: Select Configure Computer Name and IP Address,
and then set net card address and computer
name according to configuration files, and
choose Find Files to get *.cfg files got in
step 1). (This step can be passes if those
are empty computers)
C: Select auto install AyRecovery, and then
choose find folder to get created AyRecovery
installation file. If you didn’t create
configuration file, please click on Configure
to create the configuration file setup.cfg
(It is a must procedure). The generated configuration
file should be kept under the folder where
AyRecovery installer located. Create setup.iss
file according to created configuration file
setup.cfg. Click on “Start”, select
“Running” and input “installation
directory\setup.exe /r” (Installation
directory is the address to place AyRecovery
installer, for example, if AyRecovery installation
file is saved under C: \AyRecovery\, just
input the following order C: \AyRecovery\setup.exe
/r). Open AyRecovery installer, and select
“advanced” installation. Find
setup.iss file under directory C:\windows
(which would be C:\winnt in Windows 2000)
after computer rebooted, and copy the file
into folder under root directory where AyRecovery
installer located. (The step can be skipped
if you do not use AyRecovery)
D: Manually distribute fixed IP address, subnet
mask, default gateway, DNS, etc for this computer,
in which subnet mask should be in accordance
with original subnet mask, and default gateway
and DNS should be original default gateway
and DNS.
E: Click Add to Auto Execute to complete making
mother disk. Note: If you need to
operate AYGHOST Genie or clone frequently,
please click Create Install Pack to create
an install pack for further use after executing
step4 when making mother disk for the first
